Courage

from $100.00

I used to think of courage as something reserved for those like Joan of Arc, those who stare death in the face, and roar as though fear has never swept through their hallows. But, today, I felt the song and eruption of a new courage. One that isn’t noticed as much, but it dares to exist. How one appears to be failing on so many, yet their very existence is an act of courage. I thought about a friend who wakes up daily to difficulties that most of us couldn’t dream of, he is courage. His very fortitude to live is courage.

Courage could mean we get up today, find the strength to paint the walls of our life and start over afresh. No matter how many coats we’ve applied.

Courage can mean we wake, take a deep breath, and defy all odds as a prisoner of hope, again.

Courage could mean that we stand, though our knees are knocking in terror, we stand.

Wherever life may find you today, I pray you find courage. Courage in the mundane. Courage in the dark. Courage in the chaos. Courage because life is rare and so profoundly beautiful. May we be like the butterfly, shedding the cocoon of what was before, and embracing the risk to discover the newness of our wings.
